Can a carport array be washed safely?
Yes, with the right reach. Most carport and canopy arrays sit high at a low tilt, so we work from a lift or a tied-off ladder and clear the bays below before any water runs.
What makes carports harder?
Height and low tilt
Panels sit high and nearly flat, so dust bands form along the lower edge.
Cars below
Runoff drips through the gaps onto anything parked underneath.
Lot trees
Shade trees around parking drop seeds, sap and leaves onto the canopy.
Birds on beams
Open steel frames give pigeons ledges to roost on right above the glass.
How do we reach a canopy?
Commercial canopies are washed from a scissor or boom lift, set in the drive aisle once the bays below are coned off. A home carport or patio pergola needs only a tied-off ladder at a post and water-fed poles from the ground. Nobody climbs onto the canopy frame or the glass.
What helps a carport array?
Commercial care contract
Yearly washes and checks for parking canopies, priced per kW.
Solar panel cleaning
The pure-water wash for home carports and patio pergolas.
Leaves, seeds and sap on solar panels
What lot trees drop on a canopy, and why sap needs hand work.
Pigeons nesting under solar panels
Steel beams under the glass make easy roosts; here is what to do.
How does a carport year run?
Plan the lot
Agree the wash mornings, cones and closed bays with the property contact.
Early-summer wash
After pollen and seed fall, before the longest days of the year.
Late wash and look
A rinse and a glass-level check of glass, clamps and beams before winter.
What do owners ask about this array?
Will water drip on parked cars?
Not if the bays are empty, which is why we ask for them to be cleared or coned off the evening before. Pure water leaves no spots, but runoff carries the dirt it lifted. We start at first light, before most lots fill, and work bay by bay.
Do you bring the lift?
We arrange it. For tall commercial canopies we book a lift sized to the structure and include it in the quote, so there is one figure to approve. Home carports and pergolas rarely need one; a ladder and water-fed poles from the ground are enough.
How are carports priced?
Home carports are priced like a rooftop wash, from $149 for up to 20 panels. Commercial canopies fall under the commercial care contract, from $9 per kW a year, with any lift added to the quote. Prices are indicative and confirmed after we see the site.
Can you check the canopy structure?
Only by eye. The inspection lead notes visible rust, loose clamps and cracked glass, and photographs anything that looks wrong. Structural and electrical questions go to the installer or the engineer who designed the canopy; we do not certify or repair either.
