Pines, pitch and needles

Steeper roofs, cooler glass, and needles in every gap.

Clear glass pine needles scattered across a glass tile on white plaster, under a cooler bluish light.

Do foothill panels need different care?

Yes. Roofs are steeper, pines drop needles and pollen into every gap, and snow lingers on shaded rows well into spring. We wash later in the season, harness on most roofs, and check under the array for packed needles.

Which foothill areas do you cover?

Travel is included to all of these:

  • Downtown Evergreen
  • Hiwan
  • Bergen Park
  • Kittredge
  • Genesee
  • Indian Hills
  • Morrison
  • Conifer

What lands on foothill panels?

  • Pine needles

Needles slide into the gap under the rows and pile against the lower frame.

  • Pine pollen

A yellow film arrives in late May and June, heavier than in town.

  • Lingering snow

North-facing and tree-shaded rows can hold snow for days after a storm.

  • Wildfire ash

Dry summers can leave fine ash on the glass; nearby fires leave the most.

When are you in the foothills?

  • 25 to 45 minutes

    Drive time

Up I-70 and Highway 74, or US 285 for Indian Hills and Conifer.

  • Fridays, May to October

    Friday route

We group foothill roofs on Fridays through the warm months.

  • From 8 a.m.

    Later starts

Mountain mornings run cold, so slots begin once any frost has burned off.

  • Past 30 road miles

    Quoted travel

Included to Conifer; Bailey, Pine, Georgetown and beyond get a travel figure up front.

What do Evergreen and the foothills owners ask?

Why not wash in early spring?

Because the foothills are not done yet. Snow can return into May, pine pollen lands in late May and June, and a wash before both is wasted. Most foothill roofs are best washed once, between July and September, after the pollen and before the first fall snow.

Do steep foothill roofs cost more?

Sometimes. Steep pitches and tall walls can add $25 to $50, because the crew anchors a harness and sets the ladder on uneven ground. A single wash starts from $149 for up to 20 panels. We confirm the figure from a photo or satellite view before booking.

Do you clear needles from under the panels?

We clear what we can reach safely. Loose needles along the lower frame come off during the rinse, and we photograph any heavy buildup under the array. Packed debris deep under a rooftop array may need the installer to lift a panel; we do not remove modules ourselves.
