Read, look, rinse, prove

The same four passes on every roof, in the same order.

Four clear glass cubes in a line on white plaster, the light through each one cleaner than the last.

What happens, and how long?

Two passes happen off the roof, two on it.

  1. Read

We pull the last 30 days from your inverter or monitoring app and mark the clear days.

    Day before, 15 minutes

  2. Look

A walk-around, then a glass-level look at every module, photographed before any water.

    15 to 20 minutes

  3. Rinse

Pure water at air temperature, soft brushes from the top row down, droppings lifted by hand.

    30 to 60 minutes

  4. Prove

After photos the same day, then your next clear days set against the 30-day baseline.

    Same day, then a week

Why read the data first?

Your app already knows how the array was doing. Thirty days of history lets us tell a film from tree shade, a tired inverter or plain short winter days. Without that baseline, an after photo only proves the glass looks nicer.

Read your own app

What do we send afterwards?

One email the evening of the wash, one after the clear days.

  • Row photos

Before and after shots of every row, taken from the same spots.

  • Glass-level notes

Cracks, browning, scorch marks, loose clips and anything nesting underneath, each with a photo.

  • Who to call

Anything outside our work flagged for the installer, a roofer or your insurer.

  • Production comparison

Your next three clear days against the baseline, in kilowatt-hours you can check yourself.

  • Next wash advice

A plain month for the next wash, or a note that you can skip one.

What else do owners ask?

Do you need access to my solar app?

Only read access, and only if you want the production comparison. Most monitoring apps can share a read-only view, so you never hand over a password. If yours cannot, a screenshot of the last 30 days works for the Read pass and a second one for Prove.

What if the data shows no film?

Then we tell you before we come. If clear-day output matches the same weeks last year and nothing shows from the ground, a wash can wait. We would rather suggest a better month than charge for glass that is already doing its job.

Why do you start so early?

Cool glass and morning dew. Water at air temperature on glass that has not baked in the sun avoids thermal shock, and dew softens dried pollen and droppings before we touch them. In summer we start at first light; in winter, once the frost is off.

When do I get the comparison?

After the next three clear days, usually within a week. Cloud, smoke or a late snow can push it back, because a hazy day is not a fair test. We send it once the sky gives one, with the numbers laid next to your baseline.

Is the inspection extra?

No. The Look pass, a glass-level check of every module with photos, comes with every wash at no extra cost. A separate visual inspection with a full photo report, without a wash, is available from $129.
